Developing Trust

I have been thinking about the question Pastor Dennis posed...How would the people closest to us fill in the blank....Her standard is ________. I wish I could be absolutely sure that they would answer, "God". My heart's desire is that I "smell and look" like Jesus!

Once again we are given a chance to reflect...Do I trust in God or-in part-in a wrong idea of who God is? Do I know that HE is the Truth? Do I know that HE loves me! Am I a place that God meets the Earth? What does my life reflect?

Lots of thinking, this week, lots and lots of thinking...and then...listening.

I didn't get a chance yet to hear Pastor Dennis' sermon, because I'm working downstairs with the children. It is however interesting to me that what the children learned this past Sun. so ties into obviously what Pastor Dennis preached about. Their memory verse was Prov. 3:5,6..Trust in the Lord with all your heart & lean not on your own understanding, & He will direct your path.
The story they used to illustrate this was Noah trusting God in an odd situation. No water anywhere around, yet God told him to build a boat. A BIG boat.... if we had been Noah would we have trusted God????
Sometimes I can. I know there are instances in my life that I have trusted God. But is this something I'm doing everyday? Even when it feels like my prayers/requests are falling on deaf ears.
You know those verses in Prov. say trust in the Lord with ALL of your heart; not part of it, not some of it, but ALL of it.
I hope each of us is trusting God with ALL of our heart.
PEACE!
