Accepting Responsibility

We are Response Able! What a great way to look at that word! I would say, if you asked, that I am pretty responsible. However, I realized during yesterday's message, how much I have embraced society's value of accusing and excuses. Oooooo, not something that was comfortable to see in myself. But I am grateful to be alerted to that fact (thank you Holy Spirit) and see that the word Responsibility can be used as a tool to respond God's way.

Psalms 141:3 says--Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.(NIV).

If we pause and think before we respond, really, in any verbal situation, we will be ABLE for our RESPONSE to be given in love(which should be at the heart of everything we do and say...Love God, Love Others, right?). It's a place for me to start this week.

...and oh, I am so sorry that this entry is late...I got so excited about the Patriot's win, that...ooo, is that an excuse coming on...gotta go pray!

I was thinking about the excuses game. I made a mistake at work today, and it just was really freeing to not plan a defense and try an explain why I "dropped the ball". I just said "I am sorry I goofed". You know what, the world didn't end. If fact, I think it was refreshing for everone.

Now I'm not trying to make excuses for you, but the name of this blog is "Sunday on Monday" is it not?? So seeing as how it is still Monday & I'm posting a comment I'm not sure that you qualified for late. Maybe later than you liked?
